Lynda Kane:
[Owner, Founder]

Lynda’s love of exquisite jewelry, beautiful clothing and one-of-a-kind accessories can be traced to childhood. She grew up in the Philadelphia area with parents who traveled extensively, always bringing back treasures from distant lands. With each trip, Lynda and her sister, Marilyn, could not wait to see what their parents had picked out for them.

Lynda began her jewelry/accessories business in 1991. She traveled the world designing and buying jewelry, which she sold to retail shops and through shows around the country. For six years, she operated her own gallery, Aenigma, on Philadelphia’s Fabric Row in Old City. In July 2007, she moved Aenigma to historic Collingswood, bringing with her the flare and elegance for which she is known.

Over the years, Lynda has visited many countries, including Colombia, Yugoslavia, Thailand, India, Mexico, Singapore and Turkey. In each location, she works with traditional craftsmen to find and design quality, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Lynda and her staff want to be your personal jewelry and gift consultants. They will take the time needed to find the right piece for you or the perfect, unique gift. They offer a friendly, no-pressure atmosphere, and the spacious gallery is welcoming and comfortable.

First LumberYard stores debut in Collingswood

By Courier-Post staff

The upscale condo and retail development here known as The LumberYard Condominiums is welcoming its first stores: a paint-your-own pottery studio and a jewelry and accessory shop.

The stores will soon be followed by a hoagie shop, an Asian restaurant with sushi bar and a hair salon, which are all set to open by the early fall, according to Barbara Cheski, LumberYard sales and marketing representative.

Aenigma, a jewelry, accessory and gift store, opened July 18, relocating from the Olde City section of Philadelphia, where it had been for the last six years.

"I saw Collingswood as an up-and-coming opportunity," said store owner Lynda Kane, who said she's been watching Collingswood for about 10 years.

Kane, who has been selling jewelry for the last 20 years, travels the world designing and buying jewelry, gifts and accessories.

She sells her products for fundraisers and at hospital gift shops as well as at her own shop.

The LumberYard has one building completed, with eight retail spaces and 41 residential units. A second building, containing only residential units, is scheduled to be finished in 2008. A third building with a mix of residential and retail units is also "in the works," Cheski said.
